Safaricom Women in Business
Maggie Mbugua

I am the CEO & Founder of Bitcomms.

Bitcomms is an Ict Solution provider. We have been working in mainly in The SME space reselling Internet services for 8 years, Installing Wimax radios and wifi solutions in Thika and surrounding Environs and doing structured cabling. We have also been giving support to internet users in offices and at home. We started small in a small town and are now ready to play in the bigger playing field.

My decision this year was to take my business to a new challenge and I’m learning how to do Fiber installations and currently getting my teams trained for the same.

At the moment, my biggest challenge is transitioning from being a can do it all to an entrepreneur who spends more of their time developing others than doing the job themselves. To help me solve this challenge I’m being mentored by Fireside.

My current goal is to get prequalified and awarded work by Safaricom, under women in business initiative as Safaricom is willing to invest in women entrepreneurs.

I’m passionate about technology as when used efficiently can save a lot of resources for any business which can be reinvested back in the business or other areas.

In this journey I also hope to mentor a few women along the way to help them move their business to the next level.

My belief is that women can succeed just as much as men in the Techy world which is male dominated and I would like to encourage other women to give it a try. My call to them is that there are other tech women who shall hold their hand.
